What's Happening?
Chinese aircraft manufacturer COMAC used the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 to highlight its expanding presence in the global aerospace market. The company displayed models of its C909 regional jet, C919 narrowbody aircraft, and the C929 widebody
jet, which is still under development. COMAC aims to challenge the dominance of Airbus and Boeing by expanding its international operations. The C909 is already operating on 25 international routes, and the C919 is set to begin its first scheduled international route between Beijing and Ulaanbaatar. The airshow also featured a China Pavilion, showcasing the country's growing capabilities in aircraft components and manufacturing.
