What's Happening?
The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) is conducting its annual training at Jacks Valley, featuring a series of rigorous courses designed to test the physical and mental endurance of cadets. The training includes the Assault Course, Obstacle Course, Confidence
Course, and CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives) training. Each course is designed to challenge cadets in different ways, with squads such as GUTS, COBRAS, HELLCATS, and EXECUTIONERS participating. The training is part of the Basic Cadet Training (BCT) program, which is a critical component of the cadets' development at the academy. The courses are documented in galleries, allowing families to follow the progress of their cadets.
Why It's Important?
The training at Jacks Valley is a vital part of the USAFA's mission to prepare cadets for the demands of military service. The rigorous courses are designed to build resilience, teamwork, and leadership skills, which are essential qualities for future Air Force officers. The training also serves as a rite of passage for cadets, marking their transition from civilian life to military service. The skills and experiences gained during this training will be invaluable as cadets progress through their careers in the Air Force. Additionally, the documentation of the training through galleries allows families to stay connected and support their cadets during this challenging period.
