Comcast has launched its latest Flagship Lift Zone in collaboration with Opportunities Industrialization Center, Inc. (OIC) Philadelphia. Situated at 1231 N. Broad St., this new facility represents a $1
million investment aimed at upgrading technology, acquiring new equipment, and expanding capacity to offer digital and technical skills training. This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide workforce development opportunities. The Philadelphia Lift Zone is one of over 50 in the city and more than 1,250 across the United States, all offering free Wi-Fi and digital resources to local communities. According to Bret Perkins, Comcast's senior vice president of external and government affairs, the Lift Zones are designed to create pathways to opportunity and support community members. The Philadelphia site focuses on training for careers in various sectors, including hospitality, tourism, green industries, audio engineering, and healthcare, with partnerships like Per Scholas providing tuition-free technical training.
