What's Happening?
Gareth Edwards is raising funds for Farplace Animal Rescue in memory of Jan Edwards, his co-founder and best friend of 33 years. Jan Edwards was instrumental in establishing Farplace Animal Rescue, a charity dedicated to helping animals with pre-existing
conditions and those rejected elsewhere. The organization, which began informally with the rescue of a goat named Dolly, was formally established as a non-profit in 2002 and became a charity in 2008. It has since expanded to include events, shops, and a woodland for wildlife release. In honor of Jan Edwards, the trustees have decided to rename the Farplace Woodland as Jan's Wood. The fundraising effort is a tribute to her lifelong dedication to animal welfare.
Why It's Important?
The fundraising initiative highlights the significant impact Jan Edwards had on animal welfare through Farplace Animal Rescue. Her work has saved thousands of animals and provided support to countless individuals seeking advice on animal issues. The renaming of the woodland to Jan's Wood serves as a lasting tribute to her legacy. This effort not only honors her memory but also ensures the continuation of the organization's mission to support animals in need. The funds raised will help sustain and expand the charity's operations, allowing it to continue its vital work in animal rescue and rehabilitation.
