The Construction Career Collaborative (C3) is addressing the disconnect between job seekers and the construction industry's demand for skilled workers in Houston. Despite a high demand for skilled craft professionals, many positions remain unfilled due
to a lack of alignment between training programs and industry needs. C3 is working to bridge this gap by collaborating with employers, training providers, and community organizations. The initiative focuses on ensuring that training programs not only provide technical skills but also emphasize essential soft skills such as attendance, punctuality, and coachability. C3 is also facilitating externship experiences for instructors to keep them updated with current industry practices, thereby enhancing the relevance of the training provided.
