A Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing EA-18G Growler has been spotted with new AN/ALQ-249 Next-Generation Jammer-Medium Band (NGJ-MB) pods, marking a significant upgrade in its electronic warfare

This development is part of a collaborative effort between the Australian Department of Defence, the US Pentagon, and the US Navy to enhance the Growler's ability to target threats in the middle frequency bands of the electromagnetic spectrum. The NGJ-MB system is designed to jam multiple targets simultaneously at extended ranges, replacing the older AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System.
