What's Happening?
Rockwell Automation, in partnership with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and Fork Farms, is launching Clock Tower Farms, a hydroponic farming facility at Rockwell's Milwaukee headquarters. The facility will use Fork Farms' hydroponic technology and Rockwell's automation
systems to grow 200,000 pounds of produce annually, conserving water and land compared to traditional farming. This initiative aims to address food insecurity by providing fresh produce directly to food pantries in Eastern Wisconsin. The project highlights the role of industrial automation in solving community challenges.
Why It's Important?
Clock Tower Farms represents a significant step in using technology to address food insecurity, a pressing issue in many communities. By integrating hydroponic farming with automation, the project can produce large quantities of fresh food efficiently, reducing reliance on traditional agriculture. This approach not only helps meet immediate food needs but also promotes sustainable practices by conserving resources. The collaboration between Rockwell Automation and local partners underscores the potential of public-private partnerships in tackling social issues and enhancing community resilience.
