The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in India has announced that Aadhaar authentication is now mandatory for farmers to receive benefits under the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF).
This policy, effective from December 23, 2025, requires farmers to authenticate their identity using Aadhaar to access financial incentives. Under the NMNF, farmers are eligible to receive ₹4,000 per acre annually for two years. The initiative aims to promote sustainable farming practices and improve the livelihoods of farmers by providing direct benefit transfers. The Aadhaar-based authentication is intended to streamline the distribution of benefits and ensure that they reach the intended recipients.
