BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has introduced the Tang DM-i seven-seater plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in the Philippines. This launch marks the expansion of BYD's Super DM-i technology into the family vehicle segment. The Tang DM-i features a turbocharged internal combustion engine that acts as an onboard generator, paired with an electric motor and a 21.5 kWh Blade battery. This configuration aims to maximize electric driving while offering long-distance capability, with a total combined range exceeding 1,000 kilometers in PHEV mode. The vehicle includes advanced features such as a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The Tang DM-i is priced at P2,098,000 ($36,614) and comes with substantial warranty coverage.
