BWX Technologies (BWXT) has begun the pre-application process with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for a uranium enrichment facility in Erwin, Tennessee. This facility is part of a $1.5 billion contract with the Department of Energy's National
Nuclear Security Administration to restore domestic uranium enrichment capabilities for defense purposes.
