Lanny 'Ross' Salyer, aged 84, passed away peacefully on January 10 at Thrive in Mundelein, Illinois, after a long battle with dementia. Born in Salyersville, Kentucky, Salyer was known for his curiosity and creativity. He worked in pharmaceutical quality
assurance and was a political cartoonist during his college years. Salyer is survived by his wife, Judith, and his children, all of whom have pursued advanced degrees, a testament to his value for education. He was also a lover of music, particularly 1950s oldies, and enjoyed drawing Disney characters. A service will be held on January 24 at Congdon Funeral Home in Zion, Illinois.
