Kent Broussard, a 66-year-old retired accountant from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has fulfilled his lifelong dream by joining the Louisiana State University (LSU) marching band. Broussard enrolled as a freshman at LSU to pursue his passion for music, specifically playing the sousaphone in the prestigious 325-member band known as 'The Golden Band from Tigerland.' Despite not having played an instrument for 45 years, Broussard dedicated a year to relearning music and preparing for his audition, supported by his family and LSU graduate assistant Matthew Thompson. His efforts paid off when he was accepted into the band, making him the oldest member by 41 years. Broussard debuted with the band during LSU's football team's home opener, performing songs from 'The Wizard of Oz,' 'The Wiz,' and 'Wicked.'
