Ageing Australia, in collaboration with the Queensland government, has introduced a set of free workforce planning resources aimed at supporting aged care providers in Far North Queensland and other regional
areas. These resources are part of the Grow Your Own Regional Workforce Program and include the Far North Queensland Aged Care Industry Workforce Development Plan, the Workforce Planning Connect Toolkit, and the Workforce Planning Workbook. These tools are designed to help providers attract, retain, and develop a skilled workforce. The initiative is supported by a $200,000 funding from the Queensland Government. Additionally, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has released a communication toolkit to assist providers in discussing the new Aged Care Act with residents, which includes key messages, discussion guides, and multimedia resources.
