What's Happening?
The 2nd Marine Regiment of the U.S. Marine Corps has conducted its first test of the AeroVironment JUMP 20-X, a Group 3 unmanned aerial system, during a training exercise in California. This marks the first time a drone of this size has been tested by
a conventional Marine unit. Due to a lack of trained operators within the regiment, AeroVironment contractors were responsible for launching the drone. The JUMP 20-X, equipped with the Switchblade loitering munition, offers extended range and endurance, providing a significant capability enhancement for regimental-level operations.
