What's Happening?
Pope Leo XIV has dispatched 80 electric generators and thousands of medical supplies to Ukraine to assist civilians facing harsh winter conditions and ongoing attacks. The Vatican announced the aid on February 9, responding to appeals from bishops about
the challenges posed by Russia's attacks on energy infrastructure and freezing temperatures. The supplies, including antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, supplements, and melatonin, have been delivered to Fastiv and Kyiv. The Vatican is preparing additional shipments of medicine and food, coordinated through parish networks. Pope Leo XIV has advocated for peace in Ukraine and offered to host talks between Kyiv and Moscow, though Russian officials have rejected the proposal.
