Angela Ripley, the owner and president of VW Brown Insurance Service in Maryland, has been appointed as the new chair of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, commonly known as the Big 'I'. Ripley, who has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, is the second woman to hold this position. Her appointment was announced during the organization's Fall Leadership Conference in Nashville. Ripley has previously served in various capacities within the Big 'I', including as chair of the Government Affairs Committee and as a member of the Board of Directors. She has also been involved with the Maryland state InsurPac and has served on several advisory boards, such as the National Association of Registered Agents & Brokers Board and the Federal Reserve Board’s Insurance Policy Advisory Committee.
