The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is hosting its sixth annual Big Backyard BioBlitz from July 27 to August 3. This event encourages individuals to explore their local natural environments and contribute to scientific research by documenting various
species. Participants can use a dedicated app to identify and record species, which are then added to a comprehensive database. This initiative aims to provide conservationists with valuable data on biodiversity across Canada. Since its inception, the BioBlitz has recorded over 250,000 observations of more than 9,600 species. The event is designed to be family-friendly, offering educational activities and resources to engage children in nature exploration.
