What's Happening?
NASA is preparing to launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which will conduct a comprehensive survey of hundreds of millions of galaxies. The High-Latitude Wide-Area Survey will cover over 5,000
square degrees, approximately 12% of the sky, in less than 18 months. This mission aims to explore dark matter and dark energy, providing insights into the universe's fundamental nature. The survey will utilize gravitational lensing to map dark matter and gather spectroscopic data from about 20 million galaxies, creating a detailed 3D map of the cosmos.
