What's Happening?
Azets, a business advisory and accounting firm, has appointed Iffy Hussein as a corporate finance partner in its Leeds office. Hussein brings over 13 years of experience from his previous roles at Ernst
& Young (EY) and PwC, where he supported privately owned and private equity-backed businesses in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Azets, established in 2016, has rapidly expanded to over 165 offices globally, employing around 7,000 staff and serving 120,000 clients. Hussein's appointment is part of Azets' strategy to bolster its corporate finance team in Yorkshire, which includes offices in Leeds, Bradford, and York. Hussein joins a growing team, following recent additions of corporate finance executive Joshua Wright and manager Adam Mulla.
Why It's Important?
Hussein's appointment is significant for Azets as it continues its national and international growth trajectory. His expertise in corporate finance, particularly in M&A, is expected to enhance Azets' ability to advise and close deals, even in a turbulent market. This move reflects Azets' commitment to expanding its services and strengthening its position in the competitive business advisory sector. The firm's growth is backed by UK private equity investor Hg, which specializes in European and transatlantic software and services businesses. Hussein's role will be crucial in navigating the challenges posed by the geopolitical landscape and providing strategic advice to businesses seeking optimal outcomes.
What's Next?
Hussein will leverage his experience to support a range of businesses across the UK, focusing on providing strategic advice throughout their corporate journey. As Azets continues to expand, Hussein's role will be pivotal in driving the firm's growth and enhancing its service offerings. The firm aims to increase its deal closures and strengthen its corporate finance capabilities, positioning itself as a key player in the advisory sector. Hussein's appointment is expected to contribute to Azets' ongoing success and its ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
