The Grimaldi Group has officially launched its latest vessel, the Grande Melbourne, at a ceremony in Shanghai. This vessel is the third in a series of seven ammonia-ready pure car and truck carriers (PCTC) commissioned at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding
Company Limited and China Shipbuilding Trading Company Limited. The Grande Melbourne is designed for efficient transport of vehicles and other rolling cargo, boasting a loading capacity of 9,241 Car Equivalent Units (CEU). It features a state-of-the-art electronic engine that significantly reduces fuel consumption and emissions, complying with stringent international environmental standards. The vessel is set to embark on its maiden voyage from Asia to Northern Europe, carrying approximately 5,900 cars and 800 linear meters of rolling cargo.
