Dr. Lennor M. Johnson has been appointed as the new Superintendent/President of MiraCosta College, following a unanimous decision by the MiraCosta Community College District Board of Trustees. Dr. Johnson, who has served as the Superintendent/President of Imperial
Valley College, will begin his new role on August 1. During his tenure at Imperial Valley College, Dr. Johnson led the institution through significant growth and innovation, earning national recognition, including the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. His leadership focused on expanding educational pathways, enhancing student support services, and advancing workforce development initiatives. Dr. Johnson, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, has over 28 years of experience in educational leadership, advocating for educational access and success for diverse student groups.
