Dorothy Ann Putman Bailey, affectionately known as 'Duff,' passed away peacefully at her home in Bushwood, Maryland, on July 9, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Frederick, Maryland, she was a beloved member of her community and family. Duff was a graduate
of Frederick High School and Towson State Teachers College, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. She dedicated 30 years to teaching in St. Mary's County Public Schools before retiring in 1990. Duff was also a co-owner of DJ's One Stop Shop and was actively involved in community service, volunteering with organizations such as Holy Angels and the 7th District Optimist Club. She is survived by her son, Lester R. Bailey, her sister, Katheryn M. Cioffi, and several grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 24, 2026, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Avenue, Maryland.
