The NextFloat Project, led by Technip Energies and X1 Wind, has achieved a significant milestone by securing an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval for its PlemCat test site in the Spanish Mediterranean Sea. This approval is crucial for the deployment
of X1 Wind's X100 8.5MW platform, marking a step forward in the development of floating offshore wind projects. The EIA, granted under Spain's Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, ensures that the project meets stringent environmental standards, safeguarding marine biodiversity and minimizing ecological impact. The project also received a Statement of Compliance for Basic Design from DNV, affirming its adherence to international safety and engineering standards.
