the largest beef inventory east of the Mississippi River, boasting 862,000 head of cattle. The event celebrated the contributions of Kentucky's 31,060 beef cattle producers, who are part of the state's 69,400 total farms. Despite a national decline in cattle inventory due to factors like low calf prices and drought, Kentucky's beef sector remains robust. The state ranks 14th nationally in total cattle inventory and 10th in beef cattle production. The tight supply has led to increased market demand and higher sale prices, benefiting local farmers.
