Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has announced the formation of a new wolf pack, the Piney Ridge pack, in Eagle County. This addition brings the total number of wolf packs in the state to five. CPW also confirmed that pups were born to three existing
packs, although the exact number of pups is not yet known. The agency plans to provide more detailed numbers in its 2027 wolf report. The presence of established packs aids in monitoring and managing wolves, which have better survival rates in packs.
