What's Happening?
The Indian Navy is embarking on a significant expansion plan to transform into a 200-plus ship maritime force by 2035. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, announced the induction of 15 additional ships by 2026 as part of a broader vision
for self-reliance in shipbuilding by 2047. This initiative is part of a strategic shift from 'Make in India' to 'Trust in India', aiming for a fully Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) naval force.
