What's Happening?
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking an Evaluation Specialist to conduct a strategic evaluation of the communication dimensions of its projects and programs. This consultancy, located at UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, will
assess the performance of UNEP's project and program communication from 2021-2026. The goal is to evaluate results achieved, inform future project communications within the 2026-2029 Medium-Term Strategy, and identify recommendations to enhance communication effectiveness, particularly at the outcome level and in the long term. The Evaluation Specialist will work under the guidance of an Evaluation Manager and in consultation with the UNEP Global Lead Project Communications Officer and the Director of the Communication Division. The role involves drafting evaluation outputs, conducting desk reviews and interviews, developing survey protocols, and preparing the main evaluation report and a summary brief. The specialist must have no prior involvement in the formulation or implementation of UNEP projects to ensure independence.
