Cris Abrego has been re-elected to a second two-year term as chair of the Television Academy, starting January 1, 2026. His leadership has been marked by institutional progress, including record membership
and retention, representing over 27,000 television professionals across 31 peer groups. Abrego, co-founder and CEO of Hyphenate Media Group, expressed his commitment to advancing initiatives that support the long-term health of the television industry. Alongside Abrego, other officers elected include Jacob Fenton as vice chair, Jo DiSante as 2nd vice chair, Megan Chao as secretary, and Tony Carey as treasurer. Veteran composer Sean Callery has been elected as a governor representing the music branch.
