NewHydrogen, a leading U.S. hydrogen company, has filed its third provisional patent application for its ThermoLoop technology. This innovative process aims to produce green hydrogen using heat and water, rather than relying on conventional electrolysis
which requires electricity. The patent, titled “Hydrogen Production in Isothermal Chemical Looping Cycle,” was jointly filed with the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and details improvements to the technology. ThermoLoop utilizes advanced solid-state materials and machine learning to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness in hydrogen production. The company is currently developing an engineering test unit (ETU) for ThermoLoop, which will generate data to design its first commercial pilot plant.
