What's Happening?
Emerson and Interwell have launched the Adaptive Gas Lift System (AGLS), the first retrievable electric gas-lift system designed to meet international safety and performance standards. The AGLS allows
for continuous optimization of oil production without invasive well interventions, reducing operational downtime and enhancing safety and sustainability. The system provides real-time remote control of valve-port sizes, gas-injection rates, and injection depths, improving lifting efficiency and reducing the need for traditional intervention-based modifications.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of the AGLS marks a significant advancement in gas-lift technology, offering a more efficient and sustainable solution for oil production. By minimizing the need for costly and energy-intensive interventions, the system reduces the carbon footprint of gas-lift operations and enhances production efficiency. This innovation supports the oil and gas industry's transition towards net-zero energy production, aligning with global sustainability goals. The AGLS's ability to optimize production in real-time could lead to increased profitability and reduced environmental impact, benefiting both the industry and the environment.
