In a coordinated international effort, law enforcement agencies from the United States and ten other countries have successfully disrupted three major cybercriminal malware operations. The operation, known
as Operation Endgame, targeted the Rhadamanthys info-stealing malware, the VenomRAT remote access trojan, and the Elysium botnet. These tools were used by hackers to infect hundreds of thousands of computers globally, stealing millions of sensitive credentials. The operation led to the arrest of a key suspect in Greece, searches across Europe, and the seizure or disruption of over 1,000 servers and 20 internet domains. The effort was supported by more than 30 private cybersecurity organizations, including Crowdstrike and Proofpoint, which helped analyze malicious activity and notify affected network operators.
