What's Happening?
Tractor Supply Company, the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, is initiating its spring Paper Clover fundraiser, a biannual event aimed at generating scholarships for 4-H youth. The fundraiser, running from April 17 through May 3,
allows customers to purchase a paper clover at checkout in Tractor Supply stores nationwide or online. The Tractor Supply Company Foundation has also introduced a bonus competition for the 2026 spring campaign, where local 4-H organizations will compete for additional grants based on their state's average fundraising performance. The top-performing state will receive an additional $10,000, with second and third places receiving $5,000 and $1,000, respectively. The event includes Demo Days, where customers can test drive mowers and receive a free Tractor Supply hat.
Why It's Important?
The Paper Clover campaign is significant as it supports the future of agriculture through 4-H programs, which provide hands-on experiences and essential skills for youth. By raising over $26 million since its inception, the fundraiser strengthens educational programs that prepare 4-H members for leadership roles and career readiness. Ninety percent of donations directly support local 4-H youth, while the remaining 10% aids national programming. This initiative is crucial for 4-H's Beyond Ready initiative, which aims to prepare 10 million young people for work and life by 2030. The campaign not only benefits youth but also fosters community engagement and support for agricultural education.
What's Next?
As the fundraiser progresses, Tractor Supply and 4-H will continue to engage communities through events like Demo Days, encouraging participation and support. The success of the campaign could lead to increased funding for 4-H programs, furthering their reach and impact. Stakeholders, including local communities and educational institutions, may see enhanced opportunities for youth development and career preparation. The ongoing partnership between Tractor Supply and 4-H is likely to strengthen, potentially leading to more collaborative efforts in the future.
