What's Happening?
The City of Gresham has commenced a full replacement of the playground at Vance Park, located at 1400 SE 182nd Ave. This improvement project aims to create a safer and more welcoming recreational space for children and families in East Multnomah County.
The new playground will feature a Landscape Structures PlayBooster Tree Tops play system, which includes slides and climbing structures, a Rhapsody Animato Metallophone (a large outdoor musical instrument), and a two-bay swing set with an accessible swing. The existing playground structures were deemed in need of replacement due to age and the unavailability of replacement parts. The work is currently underway, with the playground closed and fenced off to the public, and is anticipated to be completed by the end of October. Gresham Parks staff will remove the old equipment, and Precision Recreation will install the new structures, funded by Park Operations General Fund dollars.
