Irene L. O'Hara, aged 94, passed away on July 14, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Chicago in 1931, she was the last of seven siblings in the Tapling family. Irene was the beloved wife of the late Charles L. O'Hara and a devoted mother to six children.
She was also a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Irene and her husband raised their family in Hillside, where she was an active volunteer at St. Domitilla parish. In 1984, they moved to River Forest. Known for her kindness and genuine interest in others, Irene was a devout Catholic who valued family, friends, and life's blessings. Her funeral services are scheduled for July 17 and 18, 2026, with visitation at Peterson-Bassi Chapels and a Funeral Mass at St. Luke's Catholic Church.
