Oak Park and River Forest High School (OPRF) has introduced a sustainable initiative by installing a geothermal heating and cooling system beneath its football field. This system consists of 240 geothermal wells drilled 500 feet underground, designed
to significantly cut energy costs for the district. The project reflects a growing trend in educational institutions to adopt renewable energy solutions to reduce their carbon footprint and operational expenses.
