Daiken North America, a Huntsville-based manufacturer, is set to enhance its production capabilities with a $10 million grant from the province of Ontario. The funding will support the scaling up of production for Daiken's innovative laminated board, known as DIO woodcore, which is designed for global markets. This product, developed in collaboration with Daiken Corporation of Japan, aims to offer a high-performance, cost-effective alternative to imported materials. The investment will upgrade the company's production line, create 10 new jobs, and support 128 existing positions. The DIO woodcore product combines the strength and flexibility of oriented strand board with the smooth surface of particle board, and can be manufactured in custom thicknesses as thin as 2.7 mm.
