Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, Army Commander of the Southern Command, emphasized the importance of self-reliance in India's defense sector as a means to achieve strategic autonomy. He highlighted that Atmanirbharta,

Lt Gen Seth outlined the vision of a secure and developed India by 2047, focusing on two major pillars: Surakshit Bharat (a secure India) and Atmanirbhar Bharat (a self-reliant India). He discussed the Army's efforts to bridge the gap between laboratory innovation and battlefield application through collaboration with academia and industry, citing partnerships with institutions like IITs and initiatives such as Agnishore and Parivartak.
