Oregon has 148 tracked data center facilities, which are estimated to consume 6.5 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity annually. Several localities within Oregon are already implementing or considering restrictions on data center development. For instance, Hillsboro has an enacted 120-day land use moratorium on new or expanded data centers, and Salem's City Council has initiated a process to consider a similar measure.
