What's Happening?
McKenzie Health System has launched a new online service to facilitate easier registration for its fitness and wellness programs. The healthcare provider has implemented WellnessLiving, an online platform that allows users to browse and register for classes
at their convenience. This initiative was made possible by a grant of $2,151.50 from the Sanilac County Community Foundation, awarded in June 2025. The platform offers a variety of classes, including aqua aerobics, senior exercise, and Matter of Balance, with plans to add more programs in the future. The updated registration process is expected to increase participation and support the growth of these programs. For those who prefer not to use the online system, McKenzie Health System continues to offer phone and in-person registration options.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of an online registration system by McKenzie Health System is significant as it reflects a broader trend in healthcare towards digital solutions that enhance accessibility and convenience for users. By simplifying the registration process, the system aims to increase participation in fitness programs, which can lead to improved community health outcomes. This move also highlights the importance of grants and community support in enabling healthcare providers to adopt new technologies. The initiative could serve as a model for other healthcare systems looking to modernize their services and engage more effectively with their communities.
What's Next?
As McKenzie Health System continues to roll out its online registration platform, it will likely monitor participation rates and user feedback to assess the effectiveness of the new system. The success of this initiative could lead to further digital innovations within the organization. Additionally, the healthcare provider may explore partnerships with other community organizations to expand the range of available programs and services. Stakeholders, including local government and community groups, may also take an interest in the outcomes of this initiative as a potential blueprint for similar projects.
