What's Happening?
Seventeen students from various U.S. and El Salvador maritime academies and universities have been awarded the 2025 Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is designed to recognize students who have shown exceptional academic performance
and dedication to their maritime studies. The scholarship program, established in 1994 by Thomas B. Crowley Jr., honors his father, Thomas B. Crowley Sr., for his significant contributions to the maritime industry. Since its inception, the program has awarded over $3 million in scholarships to more than 1,000 students across the continental U.S., Puerto Rico, and Central America. The recipients for 2025 include students from Texas A&M University at Galveston, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Maine Maritime Academy, Great Lakes Maritime Academy, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, SUNY Maritime College, and Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios in El Salvador.
