a significant tenure with CCSD, serving as financial and administrative officer from July 2004 to September 2007, and returning to that role from January 2018 to December 2021. In January 2022, he was appointed interim superintendent following the resignation of Gerrita Postlewait, and was formally named superintendent in June of that year. After a new superintendent was appointed, Kennedy continued to serve as the district's chief innovation officer until his retirement in February 2024.
