Beijing experienced a significant rebound in inbound tourism in 2025, welcoming 5.48 million international visitors, marking a 39% increase from the previous year. According to the Beijing Municipal Bureau
of Culture and Tourism, tourism spending also surged, reaching 50.56 billion yuan (approximately US$7 billion), a 44.7% rise compared to the previous year. This growth is attributed to Beijing's appeal as a high-quality cultural and historical destination, attracting a diverse range of tourists from Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The city saw a 41.8% increase in foreign tourists, excluding visitors from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Asian tourists accounted for 2.013 million visitors, European visitors totaled 1.562 million, and tourists from the Americas numbered 641,000, showcasing a balanced mix of global travelers.
