What's Happening?
The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) has announced the integration of the Spike LR2 missile into the Eagle 5 4x4 armoured reconnaissance vehicle. This integration involves
the use of Kongsberg's Protector RS4 stabilised weapon station. The Spike LR2 is a fifth-generation electro-optically guided anti-tank missile with a range of up to 5.5 km. It features a selectable explosive warhead, including tandem high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) and multi-purpose blast fragmentation warheads. The integration allows Danish reconnaissance and infantry units to configure the weapon station for various missions, enhancing their operational flexibility.
