Hormel Foods has initiated a recall of nearly 5 million pounds of ready-to-eat frozen chicken products due to potential contamination with metal fragments. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that the
contamination was traced back to metal fragments from a conveyor belt used during production. The affected products, sold under the HORMEL® FIRE BRAISED™ label, were distributed nationwide to foodservice customers, including hotels and restaurants, between February 10 and September 19, 2025. The recall involves bulk cases of boneless chicken breast and thigh meat, and FSIS has advised that these products should not be served and should be discarded. No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
