What's Happening?
Volz Servos has launched the DA 30-D actuator, designed for control systems requiring high operational reliability. The actuator's dual-channel architecture ensures uninterrupted operation even if one
channel fails. Key subsystems, including electric motors and communication electronics, are duplicated to maintain functionality. The actuator's position sensor uses a three-channel configuration with a two-out-of-three voting system for accurate signal processing. Integrated sensors monitor current draw, voltage levels, and internal temperature, with diagnostic information accessible through a redundant RS-485 interface. This design is tailored for long-term use in safety-critical UAV and aerospace environments.
Why It's Important?
The DA 30-D actuator represents a significant advancement in ensuring the reliability and safety of aerospace and UAV systems. By providing continuous availability and system integrity, this technology mitigates risks associated with system failures, which can have severe consequences in safety-critical environments. The aerospace industry, which demands high standards of reliability, stands to benefit from such innovations, potentially leading to broader adoption of unmanned systems in various applications. This development underscores the importance of redundancy and fault tolerance in modern aerospace technology.
