AISAP, a leader in AI Point-of-Care Diagnostics, has published a study in the journal Frontiers in Digital Health demonstrating that its deep learning model can accurately detect significant valvular disease and ventricular dysfunction using only a single
ultrasound view. The study analyzed over 120,000 echocardiographic studies to train the model, which was validated against a prospective cohort of patients. The AI model achieved high diagnostic performance, with an Area Under the Curve (AUC) of up to 0.97 for detecting reduced ejection fraction and 0.95 for right ventricular dysfunction. This advancement allows non-cardiologists to use handheld devices to capture meaningful cardiac signatures, potentially expanding rapid cardiac screening beyond specialized echo labs.
