A new residential subdivision aimed at supporting the local workforce is being developed in Washington County, Virginia. The Sunny Valley subdivision, which broke ground on October 21, 2025, is a project spearheaded by Ardent Development Group and supported
by Governor Glenn Youngkin. The development will consist of approximately 325 homes, with a significant portion designated as income-restricted housing. These homes are priced between $250,000 and $375,000, while the remaining homes will be priced between $400,000 and $450,000. The project, which is expected to cost nearly $160 million, includes infrastructure upgrades and is being constructed on 84 acres of former cattle grazing land. The first section of 77 homes is currently under construction and is expected to be completed between June 2026 and January 2027. The entire project is anticipated to take about five years to complete.
