What's Happening?
ESAB, a fabrication technology specialist, has upgraded its Rogue ES and ET line of inverters by incorporating DC Pulsed Stick welding functionality across all three models in the series. The models benefiting from this enhancement include the Rogue ES 151iP PRO, Rogue ES 201iP PRO Stick/Live TIG welders, and the Rogue ET 201iP PRO, which also features DC Pulsed TIG output and high-frequency TIG arc starts. This upgrade allows users to adjust Stick pulsing frequency between 0.2 and 100 Hz, with the pulsed background current adjustable between 60 to 80 percent of peak current. The pulsed Stick welding technology offers improved control over heat input, reducing warping and distortion when welding thinner materials, and enhancing out-of-position welding quality. ESAB's Rogue welders are now available through standard distribution and online sales channels, offering lightweight portability and compatibility with 120 – 230V ± 15%, 50/60 Hz primary power.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of DC Pulsed Stick welding functionality in ESAB's Rogue inverters is significant for the welding industry, as it provides enhanced control over heat input, which is crucial for minimizing material distortion and improving weld quality. This advancement is particularly beneficial for industries that require precision welding on thin materials or complex joints, such as aerospace, automotive, and construction. By reducing spatter and improving weld bead appearance, the technology can lead to cost savings in post-weld cleaning and finishing processes. Additionally, the portability and power flexibility of the Rogue welders make them suitable for various work environments, including remote locations where generator power is necessary.
