The first webinar, 'Regenerating Destinations Through Nature Positive Tourism,' is scheduled for November 19, 2025, and will be hosted by WTTC. Subsequent webinars will focus on monitoring nature-related risks and impacts, and reducing environmental impact through supply chain collaboration.
Why It's Important?
This initiative is significant as it addresses the growing need for sustainable practices in the tourism industry, which is a major contributor to global economic activity. By focusing on nature conservation and sustainable livelihoods, the partnership aims to transform tourism into a force for good, aligning business operations with national conservation priorities. This approach not only benefits the environment but also enhances the reputation and long-term viability of tourism businesses. Stakeholders in the industry, including businesses and local communities, stand to gain from increased awareness and implementation of sustainable practices, potentially leading to more resilient ecosystems and improved economic outcomes.
What's Next?
The webinar series is expected to catalyze further discussions and actions within the tourism sector, encouraging businesses to adopt nature-positive practices. As the series progresses, stakeholders may anticipate increased collaboration between tourism operators and conservation organizations, leading to more comprehensive strategies for environmental protection. The outcomes of these webinars could influence policy-making and industry standards, promoting a shift towards sustainability in tourism operations globally.
