ExxonMobil has sanctioned the $6.8 billion Hammerhead project offshore Guyana, marking the seventh development on the Stabroek block. The project is set to begin production in 2029 and will feature a new FPSO capable of producing 150,000 barrels of oil per day. This development will increase the total installed capacity on the block to 1.5 million barrels per day once all projects are operational. ExxonMobil, along with its partners Hess Guyana Exploration and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana, is currently producing about 650,000 barrels per day from the block, with output expected to rise above 900,000 barrels per day by year-end.
